I'm currently a senior at Kings High School, and I am taking AP DMA. Next Year I will be majoring in fine arts in UC's DAAP program.

When I was little I was always drawing with my grandma. Ever since I could remember, I have had a pencil in my hand making sketches, or painting with a paintbrush. I come from a family full of artists,  both of my grandfathers are painters, my mom won art competitions in high school, and my grandma and uncle are very talented artists as well. I think making art is just how I was wired. I create art because it gives me an outlet to replicate things I love.

Everything I create reflects things that I am passionate about. I love making portraits of musicians and actors and family members. I love sketching, and occasionally painting, and I also find Illustrator to be very fun and pleasing to the eye. Depending on what the project is, the time I spend on each of my pieces differs. If it's just an undetailed sketch. maybe 30 minutes, but if its a painted portrait or something with intricate details, the it could take days.

In the future, I would love to keep creating art, even if I don't pursue a career in it. If I could find time to paint or sketch on the side and maybe sell those on the side or do commissions. An artist that inspires me is Tim Burton. I love his oddly beautiful work that catches your eye every time you look at something he's made. I want people to think about my work like that, and think about the meaning or inspiration behind whatever I display.
